Privacy
How FocusFrog collects, uses, and protects your information. Last updated: March 2026.
The short version
Your data lives on your device. We don't sell it, mine it, or upload it to a server without your permission. If you use optional integrations (like Todoist sync), those services have their own privacy policies โ but we only send what's necessary to make the feature work.
If you're the kind of person who reads privacy policies for fun, here's the long version. ๐
Information we collect
What's stored on your device: - Your focus sessions (start time, duration, task, notes, distractions) - Your tasks and task history - App settings and preferences - Stats and streaks
What's sent to our servers: - Nothing, unless you explicitly enable cloud sync or integrations.
What's sent to third parties: - If you connect Todoist, we send task data to Todoist's API (via your authentication token). That's governed by Todoist's privacy policy. - If we add analytics in the future (e.g., crash reporting), it'll be opt-in and anonymized. Right now, we don't use any.
How we use your data
Your data is used to: - Run the timer - Track your tasks and stats - Sync with integrations (if you enable them)
We do NOT: - Sell your data to advertisers - Train AI models on your tasks - Share your session history with anyone - Show you ads based on your productivity habits
Data storage and security
Local storage: Your data is stored on your device using standard iOS/Android secure storage. If you lose your phone, the data is gone (unless you exported a backup).
Backups: The Backup & Restore feature exports your data to a file on your device. You control where it goes (iCloud, Google Drive, your computer, wherever). We never see it.
Cloud sync: If you enable Todoist integration, task data syncs via Todoist's API over HTTPS. We don't store your Todoist credentials โ authentication is handled via OAuth tokens.
Your rights
You own your data. You can: - Export it anytime (Backup & Restore in Settings) - Delete it (uninstall the app, or use "Clear All Data" in Settings) - Disconnect integrations (revoke access in the app or in Todoist settings)
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll note the date at the top and let you know in the app (if it's a meaningful change). Continuing to use FocusFrog after an update means you're cool with the new terms.
